The French Nordic Jazz Transit exchange program was initiated in 2002 by the AFIJMA and its Nordic partners; its purpose was to consolidate the existing networks, develop new partnerships between the two European centers and strengthen French programming in Scandinavia and vice versa.
AJC members have therefore mobilized around this project to present to a wider audience some talents of the Scandinavian scene. Meanwhile, AJC provides considerable financial support for French artists to travel in the Scandinavian area.
Through the exchanges established by the French Nordic Jazz Transit and the work of Charles Gil (Vapaat Äänet) in the Nordic region, the Scandinavian programmers have a new and positive view of the French jazz scene.
